Archaeological Exploration

The Institute undertook archaeological explorations soon after its inception in order to have a broad view of the antiquity and settlement history of the different sub-regions of Bihar.

The KPJRI has recently launched an ambitious programme to document the antiquarian remains of Bihar which include monuments, mounds, sculptures, potsherds and other antiquities. Since July, 2007, the institute has explored and documented about 7000 antiquarian find-spots.
